DVP Afterdark // Beauty Brunch 2018

This has been something near and dear to my heart, and something I spent a lot of time planning, and dreaming about! I hosted my first ever Beauty Brunch! A day of pampering, good talks, lots of laughs, and pure empowerment. I came up with the idea to host a Beauty Brunch like a year ago, when I shot my first boudoir session. My client was so happy, and so proud of herself. Seeing that, I instantly knew that I wasn’t done shooting boudoir. Then, I had a few private sessions with a few clients, and then seeing their reaction made me start to think.. So with some brainstorming, and seeing a lot of photographers that I admire hosting “boudoir bash’s” I put together the idea to host my own Beauty Brunch! I reached out my sister-in- law Kristen who specializes in Bridal Hair, and my friend Michelle who is an insanely talented makeup artist, and they both said “YES!” right away.

The girls spent most the day getting their hair and make up done, snacking on some yummy treats (thanks Trader Joe’s) drinking tea, and mimosas! We spent about 30 minutes shooting, and the rest of time having fun, and having awesome conversations. It honestly felt like I was hanging out with my best friends. Empowering women is a huge part of my love language. I love to give.. I love knowing that something I did helped one single person.. and I can’t tell you how many times I heard “Thank you so much, this is seriously just what I needed..” Feels weird typing that only because I don’t want to sound “full of myself”.. but hearing that made the last piece of the puzzle fit in. THIS IS WHY, this is why this is my passion. So with that, I just want to give a HUGE thanks to both Kristen and Michelle for helping me pamper all these gorgeous girls. And, a even bigger thank you to all my beautiful attendees; Stephanie, Tamra, Becky, Lauren, and Jeana. The impression this day left on me is something I will NEVER forget and I hope you won’t either. Remember, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOU ARE WORTHY, AND YOU ARE STRONG. Don’t ever let anyone tell you different.
