Erica + Tyler | Wallace Falls Lodge | Gold Bar, Washington

I am going to start off with the fact that I’ve known Erica practically my entire life.. and when she reached out to me to photograph her wedding it was an obvious yes. Erica and Tyler got married at Wallace Falls Lodge, and it was nothing short of perfect. They were surrounded by those who love them the most, and their big day was incredibly seamless. Somethings are just meant to be, and this was definitely one of them. I kid around with my couples, telling them that I’m the photographer who will cry with them on their wedding day, and folks.. I am. Here’s to Erica + Tyler, and to a life time of happiness!

2018-My Take Off Year

Woah. 2018 is over! I know everyone says it.. but holy crap! Time is seriously flying by. 2018 was a rollercoaster for me. The winter months here in the PNW are typically pretty slow photography wise. It’s my time to make changes, set intentions on the next coming year, book weddings, and just check in with myself. So naturally my year started off pretty slow, which was nice! I really focused on what I could do to really make an imprint in 2018. I knew I wanted to take things to the next level, but just wasn’t quite sure on how to do it. I reached out to some fellow photographers and got some advice. I needed to find my groove, and my brand. What I wanted to pride myself on, what I needed to do to set myself aside from other photographers. I spent an embarrassing amount of nights brainstorming, nose deep in my computer researching, and setting goals! I tend to set EXTREMELY high standards for myself, sometimes I think a little bit to high. I’m my own worst critic, which can be good, but also pretty toxic! (-Side bar- 2019- be easier on yourself, Danyele!)

With lots, and lots of planning, I hosted my first ever Beauty Brunch! Which most of you probably saw! I’m still speechless. That was probably one of my favorite events I’ve ever hosted. If you know me personally, I love to host things!

The very next weekend I hosted my Tree Farm Mini’s! I had 8 families back to back! I met some new clients, and got to catch up with some returning clients! It was freezing, but was a total blast! I had hot chocolate, hot coffee, and some candy canes! I also teamed up with another local artist and provided each family with a personalized ornament! It was so fun!

Those were the two biggest events I’ve hosted business wise! I went above and beyond my comfort zone. I grew so much mentally just with hosting these two events. Mental growth is a huge thing for me! These two events also really set the tone for me. I found my groove, I found what I wanted to brand myself on. And truly what brings my business pride. So thank you to all of you who supported me in these two events! I seriously can’t thank you enough!

I also shot a gorgeous wedding that literally left me in tears. I’m a baby when it comes to weddings, and anything really personal. Which is another huge reason I chose this industry! After the wedding I had some really gorgeous senior sessions, a few quick, and fun family sessions!

That basically concludes my year. This year has really, truly built my foundation for my business. I CAN NOT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH for supporting me, cheering me on, and really helping me grow! My clients mean the world to me, and I’m just so incredibly thankful I get to do this as a job. I hope you all have a wonderful New Year!!!

A Few Of Our Favorite Free Things..

It’s December! The Holiday Season, with that brings a ton of excitement, but also some stress. We all want to give our kiddo’s the best experiences but maybe some of us can’t afford to go all out. I've rounded up a few of our favorite FREE things to do during the Holiday Season that leave our cup full, and memories imbedded in our hearts forever! These activates are located in and around Snohomish County!

  • The Lights Of Christmas in Stanwood offers a few pay what you can nights. It’s stroller friendly, and a total hit for all ages! Here are the dates for the Pay What You Can nights: 12/6, 12/27, 12/28! Also, here is the website to check out all their offerings;

  • The Snohomish Light Parade is a really fun parade for all ages. My girls love it every.single.year. If you haven’t been Downtown Snohomish it is perfect for a family outing. Has a few delicious bakeries, coffee shops ( I’m a mom, I scope out coffee shops wherever we go- haha!) bars, and some really good restaurants. We love arriving to the parade a little early not only to catch a good spot, but to also get some hot chocolate and a treat before the fun begins! The parade is December 15th, 2018 and starts at 6pm and goes till 7pm! Address: 1st Street, Snohomish WA

  • Cookies with Mrs. Clause at Country Village. Last year was our first year checking out Country Village during the Holiday Season. I’m so glad we did because it is something I now look forward to! Not only did we get to have cookies with Mrs. Clause we also got to explore all the fun little shops in and around Country Village, oh and not to mention the décor is beautiful. It almost feels like you are in a little Christmas town! It looks to be Mrs. Clause will be taking a break from the North Pole on 12/8, and 12/9 at 12pm-3pm to serve us yummy cookies! Here is where you can find her! 23718 Bothell Everett Hwy, Bothell, WA 98021 Also! Here is the website, I found a ton of fun, free events!!

  • Snowflake Lane in Bellevue is another parade, and I PROMISE it will leave you full of Christmas Spirt. They do an amazing job. The best part of the whole event is the fact that they put it on NIGHTLY. Which I think is amazing, you don’t have to worry or rush about fitting everything into the weekend. From the “snow” falling from the sky, to Santa making his debut.. its a perfect family event. You can also find free parking all around, my suggestion is to also arrive early to find close parking and a good spot. We’ve been during the week and it is still pretty crowded! Here are the details! Bellevue Square and Lincoln Square from NE 4th to NE 8th Streets every night starting at 7pm!

That basically concludes all of our favorite fun free things to do locally. Oh yeah, DUH! I can’t forget to mention driving around listening to Christmas music and looking at all the Christmas lights! Friends, I know this time brings up a lot for some of us.. but just remember if you have little kiddo’s.. they are going to remember the EXPERINECES, not how much you spent, or how many gifts are under the tree. You can set traditions, without worry of maybe not being able to fulfill it the next year. It is possible! I hope this helps you out with setting reachable and obtainable traditions with your family! We wish you the best Holiday Season, and the Happiest New Year!

DVP Afterdark // Beauty Brunch 2018

This has been something near and dear to my heart, and something I spent a lot of time planning, and dreaming about! I hosted my first ever Beauty Brunch! A day of pampering, good talks, lots of laughs, and pure empowerment. I came up with the idea to host a Beauty Brunch like a year ago, when I shot my first boudoir session. My client was so happy, and so proud of herself. Seeing that, I instantly knew that I wasn’t done shooting boudoir. Then, I had a few private sessions with a few clients, and then seeing their reaction made me start to think.. So with some brainstorming, and seeing a lot of photographers that I admire hosting “boudoir bash’s” I put together the idea to host my own Beauty Brunch! I reached out my sister-in- law Kristen who specializes in Bridal Hair, and my friend Michelle who is an insanely talented makeup artist, and they both said “YES!” right away.

The girls spent most the day getting their hair and make up done, snacking on some yummy treats (thanks Trader Joe’s) drinking tea, and mimosas! We spent about 30 minutes shooting, and the rest of time having fun, and having awesome conversations. It honestly felt like I was hanging out with my best friends. Empowering women is a huge part of my love language. I love to give.. I love knowing that something I did helped one single person.. and I can’t tell you how many times I heard “Thank you so much, this is seriously just what I needed..” Feels weird typing that only because I don’t want to sound “full of myself”.. but hearing that made the last piece of the puzzle fit in. THIS IS WHY, this is why this is my passion. So with that, I just want to give a HUGE thanks to both Kristen and Michelle for helping me pamper all these gorgeous girls. And, a even bigger thank you to all my beautiful attendees; Stephanie, Tamra, Becky, Lauren, and Jeana. The impression this day left on me is something I will NEVER forget and I hope you won’t either. Remember, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOU ARE WORTHY, AND YOU ARE STRONG. Don’t ever let anyone tell you different.

My Why..

Why I started Danyele Vaughn Photography..

You guys, this is my very first blog post ever.. and I’m kinda freakin’ out inside! I can’t even believe I get to use this space to share, and connect! I’m just so excited. So why? Why did I start out on my photography journey? Well, to be honest.. I had no intention on doing this as a profession. I bought my first “real” camera shortly after A & M (for those of you who don’t know.. A & M stand for Allie, and Mason- my twin girls!) were born. My want and basically need for all the candid baby pictures was a MUST in my book. Sure, I had my phone but I wanted more then that. See, I don’t have a ton of baby/childhood pictures of myself.. My mom passed away tragically in 2005. I was also an early 90’s babe, back then (haha) we had just the plain ole Polaroid cameras. Don’t get me wrong, I kind of wish it was still a thing to use a polaroid! Instant pictures! We didn’t have the luxury of being able to save, and share like the way we do now. Photographs are memories we can all look back on, and to me that was and still is one of the most important things to me to share with my girls.

Shortly after buying my first camera, I fell in love. Just snapping pictures of my girls and activities we did I started getting asked by family and friends to photograph them! I started out with just bringing my camera everywhere! Then, hearing and seeing the reactions from family and friends when they would see their images led me to work harder, and to share more! I started researching, and started really building my portfolio! All the while, every session I kept falling harder and harder in love with photography. So I decided.. this is it! I’m going all in.. and here I am.. writing my first ever blog post, on my first ever website, for something that I can say I am completely 100% in love with.
